We cannot expect our body to function efficiently and normally if we do not feed it properly. A car is not expected to run on lawn mower fuel! Diet is fundamental to our health and is always a top priority at haveahealthylife.
A more accurate description of our approach would be nutrition, as we find that whilst people can know a lot about dieting and the latest fad diet, this does not mean that they know anything about nutrition, and are still eating either too much of the bad stuff or not enough of the good stuff or both!
Our bodies are a collection of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, sugars and fats (the right kind!) etc. A lack of any one of these will cause major health problems, perhaps not immediately but at some point in the future. You are what you eat.
Someone also needs to point out that you are what you drink, because our bodies are 70% water. So everyone needs to drink water regularly throughout the day. And plain water is best, whether bottled or tap or filtered. Fizzy drinks are not good news – they are carbonated. Our lungs expel carbon dioxide with each breath, because to the body carbon is a waste product. So why choose to put carbonated liquid, a waste product, into your body?
Across the age ranges we see the results of poor diet and bad nutrition: skin problems, headaches, joint pain, IBS, indigestion, allergies, weight issues, hormonal problems, and back ache to name just a few!
This is not to say that all health problems are caused by poor diet, they are not; but it can be an important factor, and a major issue to be addressed in the quest for a Healthy Life.

Our Approach
Too many simple carbohydrates (including sugar) can affect our blood sugar levels, causing us to have highs and lows, and ultimately leaving us tired and craving more carbs.
Food sensitivities and allergies can have a drastic affect on health.
Proteins are the building blocks used for growth and repair – not enough of these and our health can suffer.
At haveahealthylife we advise on nutrition, tailoring it to the individual, and work on repairing the damage caused by poor nutrition.
Many clients we see don’t drink enough water, and do not realise the importance of this. All the body’s functions and systems depend on good hydration; especially the eliminatory and respiratory systems. |
